BIG AUCKLAND BIKER'S DAY OUT

By Big Dave.
Glorious conditions prevailed out at Takapuna for the inaugural 'ABDO', Bikes, BBQ and the Blues.
It wasn't a bad crowd, but a busy day on the Motorcycle calendar, with the Nats round at Hampton Downs, following hot on the heels of the Beach Hop, and with several other major events in the district, it meant that there weren't as many in attendance as the quality of the event deserved. But, those of us that were there were entertained by some good Blues, a variety of Trade exhibits and the interesting array of bikes and riders on hand.
All very relaxed and enjoying the idyllic setting.
Ferg parked his Bonneville SE Demo next to 'my' Harley Tri-Glide in the AMPS tent and we took in the show.
There was a selection of Trade Displays on hand. Along with AMPS, Colemans, Cycle Spot, Cycletreads, Motomail, The Triumph owners, Ken Macintosh, The Boulevard Owners and others, all got behind the event.
The organisers announced that the show will be on again next year and in the words of Arnie, 'I'll be baaack'.
Good show all concerned. Maybe have a look at holding it on different weekend next time, when the racers are out of town.

BD Gag of the day:
What does it say on the Blues Singer's tombstone?
Well I didn't wake up this morning.
