Training: Front Brake Skills

In the next issue of KiwiRider we continue our 'Kids Clinic' on the skills needed to do downhills.
A lot of people struggle and are fearful of downhills. The confident use of the front brake is important and the clips below show how you might practice these skills to give you confidence on downhills.
Read the article in the magazine and take your time. Not only will you become a better rider but you can have a lot of fun doing the drills as your skills develop.
On the trail you don't want to get the wheel coming up. Training towards the limit however can make you more relaxed when you find yourself at your own limits.
Of course there are plenty of videos showing you what happens if you try too hard. Again take your time. You don't have to be able to do long rolling stoppies to ride well!
