BELRAY OILS TWINSHOCK TRIALS ROLL ON

Young Evan Carter of Heretaunga took out the Wanganui Expert Twinshock Trials Championship on Sunday October 9th after an impressive display amassing on 25 points over the 32 section. The venue was primarily dry but very hilly and far from easy. The almost impossible Section one was cleared three times by Evan and he was the only Expert to get a zero at this section. The Ash Kent property covers 23 acres of predominant hillside approx 800m from the edge of the Whanganui River with breathtaking views from the top of the property down over the city and out to the coast following the meandering river. Other winners were Gerald Bull from Kapiti on his Honda TLR200 in the A Grade and Oscar Alexander also of Kapiti on his Honda XL12S in the Pre 78 B Grade. And for the third time running the series has attracted 20 rider entries, last one in the Hutt Valley was 21 and prior to this we had 23 riders at Bulls. The next round is at the Inframax Quarry at Linton in the Manawatu as the Belray Series becomes part of the Manawatu Orion Centennial Trial. The modern Orion riders will take on Ixion for the BSA Shield in their annual club challenge. It is the 65th Anniversary of the presentation of the first shield by local BSA Dealer Pink & Collison in 1946. While Manawatu are in their 100th Yr the Ixion Club are in their 85th Yr.
